Dr. Rajiv Reebye is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) specialist and Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) and holds a specialist certificate in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is an attending physician on the inpatient neuro-musculoskeletal program and on the outpatient acquired brain injury and neuro-musculoskeletal programs at GF Strong Rehabilitation Center, Vancouver, Canada. He is also a consulting physician in the spinal cord clinic at BC Children’s Hospital and at the UBC Multiple Sclerosis Clinic.

Dr. Reebye has a special interest in spasticity management, neuropathic pain management in patients with stroke, multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica.

He actively teaches residents in the pain fellowship program at UBC as well as residents in the division of PMR, Geriatric Medicine and Rheumatology at UBC.

Dr. Reebye is the director of the New Westminster Rehabilitation Medicine spasticity clinic- a community based spasticity clinic focusing on the treatment of patients with adult spasticity and also children with spasticity transitioning to adulthood.

He is also co-founder of the Canadian advances in neuro-orthopedics for spasticity congress (CANOSC), an organization created to provide excellence in enhancing collaborative care between physicians and surgeons for the treatment of spasticity. His research interests include casting post botulinum toxin injections for post stroke spasticity, peri-operative botulinum toxin use and use of ultrasound for chemodenervation in the treatment of spasticity.

Dr. Reebye teaches locally and internationally on the use of ultrasound-guided injections for spasticity management. He enjoys clinical teaching and was recognized with the Patricia Clugston Award (2012) for Excellence in teaching, the Duncan Murray excellence in teaching award from the UBC division of PMR (2011, 2016) and the Dr. Theo Van Rijn award for contribution to the PMR residency program at UBC (2021).

In 2021, Dr. Reebye was named recipient of the UBC Continuing Professional Development prize for outstanding contributions to continuing medical education. He was also honoured to receive the Meredith Marks award by the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and rehabilitation (CAPMR) for excellence in teaching physiatrists nationally and internationally in 2022.
