Electromyography (EMG) Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) are tests that examine the electrical activity of the body’s muscles and nerves, usually in one arm or leg. Carpal tunnel syndrome (pinched nerve in the wrist), a pinched spinal nerve, peripheral neuropathy (conditions affecting nerves outside the spinal cord), myopathy (muscle disease) can be identified using these tests.
